What's the secret to a long, happy marriage? As Dad says, "If we're going to fight, we strip to the waist first." After 60 years and countless adventures, whatever their methods, it seems to be working!
They met at the wedding of Bob's brother to Pearl's sister. Two years later they celebrated their own wedding in Treherne, Manitoba. Along the way, Dad's Air Force career took them to France, Scotland, Utah, and across Canada. While stationed in Nova Scotia, they kept things lively by welcoming 3 daughters to the family. Mom took a break from her nursing career (sort of!) to wrangle the girls. After 38 years serving in the military, they retired to serve the Lord and spent 9 rewarding years doing mission work in New Zealand and the Philippines. Now settled in Victoria, their love story has grown to include 7 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and shortly, a great-grandson. What a legacy! Happy Diamond Anniversary, Mom & Dad!
